- I am aged in my 60s, and I live in a nursing home due to ill health. I retired in 2005, after a successful career as an accountant, compliance consultant and part-time university lecturer. I remain interested in life outside the nursing home and I go out with my husband and family regularly. I have recently published a book of my poetry. I make all my own clothes. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time resting due to my ill-health. I cope with SLE (lupus), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Sjogrens Syndrome, Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis, Achalasia, cellulits and severe spinal problems which necessitate using a wheelchair to get around. I use oxygen 24/7, and have an SPC and an ileostomy. I am currently trialling spinal nerve stimulation.
